Frequently asked questions

Why is there only slick chic here?
The Slick Chic company has been on the market since 1990 and is characterized by absolute top quality in workmanship and material. The company sells only to selected boutiques. Direct sales with the corresponding price advantage is only possible here.
Due to the special material properties of the latex, no powder is required to slide, which is an enormous relief, especially for tight clothing. Slick Chic also makes made-to-measure items for a small surcharge, delivers absolutely reliably within approx. 14 days and also repairs clothing in the rare event that something should break J when used too hot. There is a huge stock of clothing, but photos do not always exist. We are happy to answer inquiries.

What is latex?
The term latex comes from Latin. The latex is the milk juice of the rubber-producing plants (especially spurge family growing in the tropics) or the emulsion of rubber and water. This latex milk consists of rubber, protein-containing protective colloids and minerals. Latex is a natural product that swells in water and is insoluble in alcohol and resin solutions. Natural rubber is obtained from latex milk using certain processes, which serves as the basis for countless products for everyday and medical use. In order to be able to process latex better, to slow down the natural aging process and to make it more resistant to environmental influences, small amounts of synthetically manufactured substances are added.

Why is the SLICK CHIC latex so soft and slides so easily over the skin?
Our special latex, which is only available from us, is produced in a particularly complex process. As a result, it glides smoothly and comfortably over the skin, powdering or the like. is completely eliminated and if the clothes are to be taken off for once, it slips as if by itself ;-). This makes handling simple, easy and convenient.

What is the difference between latex & rubber?
Latex (rubber) serves as the basis for latex rubber. We use this to manufacture our clothing. In the context of clothing, rubber is often used as a synonym for latex (latex rubber).
Industrially, rubber is mainly manufactured synthetically (based on crude oil). These gums contain no latex proteins and are therefore particularly suitable for medicine (allergy). In contrast to latex rubber, synthetically manufactured rubbers usually smell unpleasantly of solvents.
Natural rubber is rarely used as a base in industry because it costs significantly more.

I have a latex allergy. Can i wear your clothes

The allergic reaction occurs on contact with free protein molecules in the material. Our material is chlorinated in a special process so that these free protein molecules are released. As a rule, allergy sufferers can also wear our clothes.

Is latex clothing breathable?
No. Latex clothing completely encloses the body. The skin cannot breathe.
Therefore, it is advisable not to wear latex clothing all the time. The skin needs time to recover. Wearing latex for half a day and exposing it for half a day is a good measure in our opinion.

Basically, the closer the clothes are, the less you sweat. Loose-fitting clothing holds air cushions between the skin and the latex. This makes sweating easier.

Does latex clothing protect against heat / cold?
No. Latex has no insulating properties and does not protect against heat or cold. On the contrary. Latex is like a second skin. It surrounds the body comfortably and makes it sensitive to touch. It shapes and emphasizes the body and gives a feeling of not wearing anything.

Basically: Avoid extreme temperature changes, especially from warm to cold - risk of catching a cold. Bring change clothes or warm clothes for parties on the way back.

How do I care for my latex clothing?
In order for you to enjoy your clothing for a long time and to retain the beauty of the material, the following instructions should be observed.
General:
A release agent is used to manufacture the material. Therefore, the garment should be wiped with a damp cloth and treated with a care product before the first wear. Latex is a natural product, so color deviations are possible. Staining is also possible, therefore different colored garments should be kept separately.

- Do not expose latex clothing to sunlight for longer than necessary, artificial light can also be harmful, especially in connection with ozone
- Caution with pointed objects - e.g. Fingernails
- Fats, perfume and perfume oils and some metals (e.g. copper) react with latex,
therefore direct contact should be avoided
